Community Guidelines
Última actualización: October 12, 2026
Salgamos is a safe space designed to help you find fun, friends, love and any other kind of rewarding and respectful relationship you and your matches so desire.
However, just like in real life, your attitude, behavior and actions will color the responses and results you get. In other words, like the old saying goes, you reap what you sow. In short: be kind, be yourself, be chill, and be rewarded.
Remember, you are matching, chatting and sharing with other humans just like yourself. Everyone has boundaries and feelings that need to be kept in mind, even when conversations turn flirty.
Follow the Golden Rule and treat others how you want to be treated.
Beyond this, every member shares responsibility for keeping our community inclusive and caring, so that everyone can enjoy their time on the app without fear or apprehension.
Below are the expectations every member must follow, along with the consequences (such as suspensions or permanent bans) that can follow if these guidelines are not taken to heart.
These guidelines apply to all of your content and activity on Salgamos, as well as to any interactions you have with other Salgamos members off the platform. We may revise and update these guidelines as we see fit. They are part of our Terms of Service.
Age restriction
Salgamos is a dating app for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old to open and use an account. Accounts of anyone under 18 are closed, and members who violate this guideline will be banned and risk Salgamos involving the appropriate authorities.
A total ban on minors means a TOTAL ban: do not communicate with anyone you believe to be under 18. Report underage profiles immediately; you are helping keep yourself and other members safe.
Image guidelines
Your profile photos should accurately represent you (because you're worth it)! Just as your face and appearance help make a first impression in real life, so should your photos.
Do not upload images that don't represent you: no photos of celebrities, your pets or random memes, for example. People want to match with you, not your dog Sparky.
The idea is to give potential matches an accurate picture of who you are, so be your best self. Every photo uploaded to Salgamos is automatically checked, and explicit photos are rejected.
Follow these guidelines to avoid being reported and/or banned:
- Don't include other people in your photos.
- Don't advertise, post spam or share other promotional content. Make your money elsewhere, please.
- Don't show guns, acts of violence, drug use and/or other activities widely understood to be illegal.
- Post only pictures that you own. Don't upload other people's copyrighted images or material.
- Don't post pornographic images or other sexually explicit content.
- Your face should be clearly visible in each photo.
- Don't include direct contact information (phone numbers, email addresses, etc.) in your photos.
Profile guidelines
Your photos and name are the first things other people see, and they're what prompts a response (or lack of one). People can open your full profile to see all the details they need to make a quality connection.
Don't skip the chance to introduce yourself well. Be clear, concise and approachable, and make the most of the creative prompts. That's what they're there for.
Your approach, like your profile, is up to you. Keep it simple or go all out, be fun and festive or keep it serious; the choice is yours. However, please follow these guidelines:
- Your name doesn't have to come straight from your birth certificate, but it should be the name you use every day in real life. Share accurate profile details about yourself, especially your age, location and gender. These details are crucial to good matches, and your age must always be truthful.
- Keep your profile name and intro appropriate and safe for work. Trolling, hate speech and offensive or extremist phrases will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Salgamos is not a space for bullies or others without empathy.
- No fake or impersonation accounts, and no joint or couples' accounts. One person, one account.
- Don't post direct contact information (phone numbers, email addresses) or any sensitive or potentially compromising material, such as your (or anyone else's) Social Security number, passport details or pictures, passwords, financial or banking information, or any other private contact information.
- Don't use your profile to share marketing content, spam or links to external websites. Salgamos is a dating and social platform, not a place to advertise other commercial endeavors. Best of luck with your business, but Salgamos is not the place for it.
Nudity and sexual content
Sexually explicit content is not allowed on Salgamos. Our experience is also subject to the rules of the app stores (if we can deal with it, so can you).
A good rule of thumb: if you couldn't post it to your Instagram profile, don't post it on Salgamos.
This applies to your profile, your prompts and your chats. Photos sent in chat are checked automatically just like profile photos, and explicit images are rejected. Even when a conversation turns flirty, always make sure the other person is comfortable. Content that makes someone feel unsafe may result in a ban.
In particular:
- No pornographic images, including images depicting sex acts of any kind (no matter how fun you think they are).
- No exposed genitals of any kind.
- No bodily fluids, including semen, urine, blood or bodily discharge (if it comes out of you, don't post a picture of it).
Private information
- Salgamos will never directly ask you for personal details like your password or credit card information. Payments are handled by our official partners, the Apple App Store and Google Play. Other members do not need this information, even if they ask. Keep these details to yourself.
- Unwelcome requests for this kind of information, or other spam tactics, will result in action against your account (such as suspension or a ban, even indefinitely).
Inappropriate and illegal behavior
Salgamos is not exempt from the rule of law. Activity that is illegal offline is illegal online, too. Don't share, advertise or otherwise publicize sexual acts, drug dealing or drug use, fraud, threats, acts of violence or other illegal activities on your profile or in your chats.
Harassment
- Again, follow the Golden Rule. Treat others how you would like to be treated.
- If someone indicates that they want to be left alone, respect their wishes and leave them alone. No exceptions.
- Misusing the reporting system to settle a (perceived) vendetta or to "get back" at another member will result in a permanent ban.
Hate speech
Hate speech of any kind will not be tolerated. Toxic or offensive messages based on any of the following are not allowed or condoned:
- Race
- Age
- Disability
- Ethnicity
- Religious beliefs
- Gender
- Sexual orientation
- Gender identity
- Physical appearance
- Nationality
Location and visibility
With your permission, Salgamos uses your device's approximate location to show other members how far away you are. Other people see a distance, not your exact location. Even so, be thoughtful about what you share, because any app that shows distance can sometimes be used to estimate where someone is.
You can turn off Nearby visibility and use the app's other visibility controls at any time, and you can turn off location permission in your device settings. For more detail, read our Privacy Policy.
Reporting
We've made it quick and easy to report members who disregard these guidelines. Salgamos is meant to be a safe, respectful space, and the safety of our members is our chief concern.
Members who violate these guidelines and/or promote rude, disrespectful or inappropriate material or behavior are subject to reporting. You can report a profile or a conversation from inside the app, and you can block anyone at any time. Reports are reviewed by our team.
If you notice someone acting against these guidelines and creating an unsafe environment for you or others, please don't just block them. Reporting helps us investigate inappropriate behavior and remove toxic members, keeping Salgamos the safe, welcoming and inclusive community it is meant to be.
If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. You can also reach us at [email protected].
Stay sweet!
We hope you agree that these guidelines are common sense, and that they're shared in the spirit of a community we can all be proud to be part of.
We're here to keep our members safe while encouraging meaningful connections that lead to love, friendship and caring relationships of all kinds.
Be respectful and be kind, to yourself and to others, and you'll likely be fine!
