Welcome to salgamosapp.com. Privacy and Cookie Policy. This Policy explains how salgamosapp.com (“We”
or “Us” or “Our” or “Salgamos” ) processes and puts you in control of your Personal Data. Processing
Personal Data is simply how we collect, use, share, and retain Personal Data. This policy covers
these activities across all of our services, including services through our website, mobile
application, and any other web related services (“Services” or “Platform”).
This policy covers the following:

Our Commitment to Privacy as a global LGTBQ+ social networking application allows you to share sensitive
information about yourself, including your sexual orientation and precise location, with us, the service
providers who assist in the running of our services, and other users on the Platform. It is our goal to
put you in control of as much of the personal data you share with the Salgamos Services as possible. We
recommend you read this Privacy and Cookie Policy, and our Terms and Conditions , carefully. From
time-to-time within the Platform.
We are a U.S.-based Company. By using the Platform, you are transmitting information to the United
States. If you are a resident of another country, note that the United States may not afford the same
privacy protections as your country of residence.
PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT - WHERE, WHEN, AND HOW
We start to collect Personal Information as soon as you start interacting with Salgamos by
downloading the Salgamos App, liking us on social media, or contacting us directly. We may collect
Personal Information directly from you, directly from your device, or from third parties. We have to
collect some Personal Information from you in order to provide you with and operate our App;
sometimes providing Personal Information is optional.
PERSONAL INFORMATION YOU ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE
The following provides examples of the Personal Information that Salgamos collects.
In order to use Salgamos, you are required to provide Personal Information (i.e., email or a third-party
social log-in like Facebook or Google, phone number, and date of birth) for account registration and
authentication and/or verification purposes. If you utilize a third-party social log-in, the third-party
provides us with access to certain information that they have about you (e.g., display name and email
address) for authentication and account creation purposes. We collect phone number to assist with
account authentication processes (e.g., password changes, email address updates, ban appeals) and we may
also collect email address and a photo of yourself (i.e., a “selfie”) to verify impersonation reports.
PERSONAL INFORMATION YOU HAVE THE OPTION TO PROVIDE
Profile Information:
The Salgamos App includes features
that permit interactions that you initiate between Salgamos App and third-party websites or
services, including third-party social networks (collectively "Social Features"). For example,
you may include a link to your Instagram and/or Facebook accounts from within your Salgamos
Profile. If you use Social Features on the Salgamos App, both Salgamos and the third-party
services that operate those Social Features
Social Features:
The Salgamos App includes features that
permit interactions that you initiate between Salgamos App and third-party websites or services,
including third-party social networks (collectively "Social Features"). For example, you may
include a link to your Instagram and/or Facebook accounts from within your Salgamos Profile. If
you use Social Features on the Salgamos App, both Salgamos and the third-party services that
operate those Social Features may have access to certain Personal Information about you and your
use of both the Salgamos App and theirs. The Personal Information collected and stored by third
parties remains subject to those third parties' privacy practices, including whether the third
parties continue to share Personal Information with us.
Photos, Videos, and Audio:
We may collect audio,
electronic, visual, or similar information if you enable video or photo features in Salgamos
App. Suppose you upload a photo or send an audio message while using the Salgamos App. In that
case, you will be required to permit Salgamos to access your camera, photo gallery, and/or
microphone in which case Salgamos will have access to the photos and videos stored in your photo
gallery. Salgamos also offers the ability to engage in live audio and video chats. After you
start a chat with another Salgamos user, you can send recorded audio or participate in a live
audio or video call with that user.
Location and Distance Information:
We may collect your
precise location ("Location") to determine your distance from other users (“Distance
Information”). The Salgamos App is designed to allow users to share Distance Information.
Distance Information is public and indicates to other users of the Salgamos App the distance you
are in miles or meters from them. Your Distance Information will be displayed in your profile in
those users' search results should you elect to display your relative distance. Should you
choose not to allow the Salgamos App to access your location, certain features of Salgamos(such
as displaying nearby user profiles or features that include Location Sharing) will not function
properly. Note that Salgamos App users can use the “Explore” feature to search for other users
in a geographic location outside of their immediate location. Sophisticated users who use the
Salgamos App in an unauthorized manner, or other users who change their location while you
remain in the same location, may use Distance Information to determine your exact location and
may be able to determine your identity. You may choose to hide your Distance Information;
however, the Salgamos App will continue to sort and display your profile based on your relative
distance from other users. Accordingly, even if you choose to hide your Distance Information,
others may nevertheless be able to determine your Location. You may also revoke this permission
and disable the location services on your device on an iPhone by going to Settings> Privacy>
Location Services> Salgamos and on an Android device by going to Settings> Location> Salgamos>
Permissions> Location.
Messages:
When you send a message to other users using
Salgamos App (which could include content such as photos, audio, emojis, giphys, reactions,
etc.), we may collect Personal Information that includes the content of the message. If you send
messages, you will be providing the user who views your message (and Salgamos) with your
Personal Information. Don't send messages or share content that you wouldn't want someone to
save or share as users may save content or copy it outside the Salgamos App. We store chat
messages on our servers in accordance with our retention policy; however, chat messages may also
be stored locally on devices. Therefore, if you choose to delete your account, messages you sent
to another user may still be available on that user’s device. Do not share your Account
Credentials through messages, or any other Personal Information that you don’t want other users
to know about you.
PERSONAL INFORMATION WE RECEIVE FROM YOUR DEVICE WHEN YOU USE THE SALGAMOS APP
User Activity:
We collect certain Personal Information
that is generated through your use of the Salgamos App. This Personal Information includes,
among other things, information about whose user profiles you have viewed, purchases through the
Salgamos App, how you’ve interacted with the Salgamos App, and how you communicate with other
users. Hardware and Software Information. We collect certain hardware and software information
about you and your device such as device make, device model, device IDs (i.e., Identifier for
Vendor (IDFV) and Android ID), carrier, data connection type, browser type, operating system, IP
address, domain name, date/time stamp for your visit, device/operating system orientation, app
crashes, device advertising identifiers (e.g., Google’s GAID and Apple’s IDFA which can be reset
by going to your device’s setting). All of the foregoing is collectively known as “Hardware and
Software Information”.
Cookies, Log Files, and Other Tracking Technologies. We use cookies and URL information to
gather information regarding the date and time of your visit.
Purchase Information from Third-Party Payment Processors:
We use various third-party payment processors, including Google Play and Apple. Salgamos does
not process payment card information directly; however, our third-party payment processors may
provide certain information to us (e.g., your name, address, partial payment card number, and
e-mail address).
Third-Party Platform Information:
If you utilize a
third-party social log-in (e.g., Facebook or Google), the third party provides us with access to
certain information that they have about you for authentication and account creation purposes
(e.g., display name and email address) which we use for the above-mentioned purposes. We may
also access information contained in tracking technology placed on your device by the
third-party platform. Remember, when you elect to create an Salgamos account via a third party,
you are also giving them Personal Information, so we recommend you read their privacy policies
which control how they use your information and which may also provide additional data
management tools you can use.
DATA RETENTION
We retain your Personal Information for no longer than is necessary to fulfill the purposes for
which the information was collected or as otherwise permitted or required by applicable law or
pursuant to Salgamos Terms and Conditions of Service and/or Salgamos Guidelines. Salgamos
generally retains data provided by users (such as account registration information, Profile
Information, and message content) and data generated from users (such as activities of users on
the App) for as long as an account is active - this helps us provide a seamless user experience
and facilitate features (e.g., storage of chat messages on Salgamos servers for cross-device use
of Salgamos profiles for users with active accounts). To evidence decisions made to protect the
safety of our users (e.g., if we ban an account, we keep some information to document the
reasons for, and to maintain, the ban, including log-in information, photo, display name,
reports against the user, and message content)..
To support information security, fraud prevention, and anti-spam efforts, and to protect the
overall safety and vital interests of our users (e.g., login and signup behavior for security
purposes and interactions with our APIs to help in the prevention of fraud).
To comply with our Legal Obligations (e.g., information related to purchase history to support
tax and accounting purposes, to support a valid legal subpoena, or a request asking us to
preserve or produce information). To support the ways we process Personal Information under
certain legal bases (i.e., for our own legitimate interests, like a device identifier (i.e.,
IDFV and Android ID) for internal reporting and metrics for a period of up to two years).
Server-side and Local Storage: Salgamos is transitioning to the storage of chat messages on its
servers to support the use of the Salgamos Apps across multiple devices, which will result in a
longer retention in compliance with our data retention policy. However, chat messages, including
images and recordings, may still be retained locally on user devices and may still be retained
on the recipient’s device even after the information is no longer available on Salgamos servers.
Data Sources:
All of the Personal Information we collect
about you is provided by you, the user. Salgamos may also collect this information from other
sources, including third parties.
Open ID Providers:
Salgamos partners with OpenID providers,
such as Facebook, Google, Apple, and possibly others in the future, to allow users an option to
create and authenticate their Salgamos account through those services. In some cases, as part of
the account linking process with the OpenID partner, we may receive information about you from
those partners. Please consult that partner’s instructions on how to remove account access from
Salgamos. Device: There may be information that Salgamos collects from the Mobile OS (Operating
System) or web browser (e.g., your location). This collection usually first requires your
consent for our App to do so.
Third-Party Apps: Third-party applications that Salgamos partners with to help facilitate our
App (e.g., Google, Apple, etc.).
HOW WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA WITH THIRD PARTIES
We may share information we have about you for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy to assist
us in providing the services you have requested. The majority of the sharing occurs between you and
other users, but we also share with third parties such as Service Providers who work on our behalf, Ad
Partners, and when required, by law.
- Other Users. We provide a safe space where users can exchange information with each other.
- Service Providers. Partners who assist us with providing our services such as with crash
reporting, payment and business transaction systems, website and app tracking and reporting
tools, internal support tools (bug reporting, customer support systems, app ratings reporting,
etc.).
- Your Consent. Where you’ve given your consent for other disclosures, features, or services
provided by us.
- Partner Promotions. We may promote programs and events with partners to offer discounts, early
access, or other information or incentives to our users.
- Legal Obligations . We may access, preserve and disclose information to investigate, prevent,
or take action in connection with: (i) legal process and legal requests; (ii) enforcement of
our Terms and Conditions ; (iii) claims that any content violates the rights of third-parties;
(iv) requests for customer service; (v) technical issues; (vi) protecting the rights, property
or personal safety of Salgamos, its users or the public; (vii) establishing or exercising our
legal rights or defending against legal claims; or (viii) as otherwise required by law.
HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL DATA
We retain your Personal Data for no longer than is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which the
information was collected or as otherwise permitted or required by applicable law or pursuant to our
Terms of Service. Personal Data may be retained for longer periods of time if required for legal or
security purposes.
YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS
You can make the following choices and exercise your rights regarding your Personal Data held by us:

Correct Profile Information. By creating an account, you are providing us Personal Data about
yourself in your public profile.

Delete Account and Related Information. You may delete your account and related information at
any time. There are some scenarios where some or all of your information may be held after your
request (such as for tax and accounting purposes, moderation review, dispute resolution, and
other legal matters).

Promotional Emails. You may choose during the registration process to allow us to use your email
address to send free newsletters, surveys, offers, and other promotional materials related to
Salgamos and/or the Salgamos Services, as well as targeted offers from third parties. You can
stop receiving promotional emails by following the unsubscribe instructions in emails that you
receive. If you unsubscribe from receiving such promotional emails, we may still send you
service-related communications, and our applications will continue to deliver you in-app
messages.

Behavioral Advertising On Websites and the Salgamos App. You can opt-out of the sharing of your
Personal Data (“Sale”) with our Ad Partners. Please note that opting-out of behavioral
advertising does not mean that you will not receive advertising while using the free version of
Salgamos Services. It will, however, exclude you from interest-based advertising conducted
through participating networks, as provided by the applicable choice mechanisms.

Access & Portability . You may request that we provide you with information about our processing
of your Personal Data and provide you with a machine-readable copy. We may not be able to
provide some elements of information if making the information available to you would also
reveal Personal Data about another person or if we are legally prevented from disclosing such
information.

Restrict Processing . Under certain circumstances, you may limit the way we process your
Personal Data.

Withdraw Consent . You may withdraw consent that you have previously given us at any time.
Revocation of your consent will only apply to future processing activities and will not apply
retroactively. Salgamos relies on your consent for live location sharing; your use of the
Salgamos Web Chat service; when you provide HIV status and last tested date; to access your
camera and photo roll; sharing your Personal Data with advertising partners; for surveys;
sharing Personal Data with analytics partners; and to facilitate messages between users.

Object to Processing . Where your jurisdiction’s law allows, you may object to us relying on our
legitimate interests as the reason for why we process your Personal Data.
HOW WE PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA
We take the privacy and security of your Personal Data seriously. We will have a dedicated data security
team that actively works to monitor the integrity and safety of the Platform. We have policies and
protocols in place to help protect Personal Data. In the event that we are required by law to inform you
of any unauthorized access to your Personal Data, we may notify you electronically or in writing in
accordance with applicable law.
